Apparel Design

Illustration | Lettering | Production

I have had opportunities as both a freelancer as well as a designer on several teams to create customized apparel. From clients like Xbox and T-Mobile to in-house teams at Microsoft and beyond, I have distilled a wide range of concepts into compelling, easily printable graphics that people have loved to wear.

Microsoft AI Supercomputer

While on a team within Microsoft Azure, I was tasked with creating a t-shirt to celebrate the engineers who developed the world’s fastest AI supercomputer. My concepts centered around the idea of stack infrastructure in data centers in unexpected, visually interesting ways.

Microsoft Charity Soccer Tournament Team T-Shirt

As a Senior Visual Designer on the Microsoft HoloLens Advanced Optics team, I was asked to create a specialty team t-shirt for a charity giving soccer event. My concepts combined traditional sports typography and layouts with unique easter egg references to the team’s optical engineering work, like laser relays and the HoloLens mixed reality headset viewing lens shape.

Zin Boats T-Shirt Concepts

Zin Boats is a startup company that develops “quietly comfortable, high performance, totally electric boats.” The founder commissioned me to create a t-shirt design for his employees that encapsulated this idea of modern, electric boating in an understated way. My designs focused on a few core concepts: unique physical attributes of the boats themselves, the fully electric functionality, and the company motto of “Everything You Need, Nothing You Don’t.” With this in mind, I proposed several graphics that utilized references to simple silhouettes, circuits, and waves surrounding negative space to highlight the experience above the product.

T-Mobile Location T-Shirt Concepts

As a Senior Designer at Ten Gun Design, I worked with a small team on an apparel project for T-Mobile. Our client was opening a few premium stores in cities across the country and wanted to feature t-shirt products that represented a local theme. My goal was to capture each city in compelling ways that also aligned with the T-Mobile brand. Shown here are my concepts for Miami, Chicago, Boston, and San Antonio.

Xbox Event & Game Apparel

While I was a Senior Designer at Ten Gun, Xbox was a consistent client. I created design concepts for events as well as game projects.

Event: Fanfest

In 2016, I created the logo lockup that was used for many years for Xbox’s annual FanFest gaming event. This logo was applied in several ways, including swag t-shirts.

Game: Crackdown

The Xbox game Crackdown wanted to create t-shirt products to celebrate the release of the third game in the franchise. I created several concepts that captured the game ui illustration style and referenced key components of gameplay and primary characters.

Game: State of Decay

I designed this detailed, pseudo realistic interpretation of the State of Decay logo for apparel as a part of the marketing campaign for the release of the second game in the franchise.
